To enable remote connections on the instance of sql server express or sql server developer edition you need to follow the following steps
Click on start->programs->microsoft sql server 2005->Configuration tools->sql server surface area connction
Then the following window will open. In this click on surface area configuration for services and connections.
When clicking on surface area configuration for services and connections.
In the window when selecting remote connectins you can see whether remoteconnctions have enabled in your system. If not enable by selecting the radio button. Then a message box will show as changes will take effect only when restarting. Then restart your computer.

I do every thing but unable to connect to the server. Every time this error slaps me. plz help
Im also getting same problem.....i have enabled the network connection.....but still im getting the same error......please please can any one give the solution for this please
